U.S. Warns Citizens Over Tanzania's Anti-LGBT Crackdown
The U.S. Embassy in Tanzania has issued a warning to American citizens and potential travelers over a planned crackdown against LGBT people in the East African country where homosexuality is criminalized.
In a notice posted to its website Saturday, the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, the Tanzanian capital, urged citizens to “review” their social media profiles for any content that could violate local laws. The embassy advised travelers to “remove or protect images and language that may run afoul of Tanzanian laws regarding homosexual practices and explicit sexual activity.
US: Twitter Permanently Suspends Trump
The incumbent president of the United States of America, President Donald Trump has been permanently suspended from Twitter. The decision was reached due to the violence and attack on the US Capitol by his supporters.
Twitter in a post said, “After a close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account, we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.”
Recall that Twitter had blocked the Republican for 12 hours after the attack on the US Capitol on Wednesday and warned that he would be permanently suspended if he continues breaking its rules.
